A Quarter For My Thoughts: Four Impressions on the 3rd Quarter

1. The Defense of ’06 - It led the story for the 2nd quarter and it leads it again. This defense is looking nasty right now. And that sack by Antonio Lowery for 17 yards? Should have been 42 yards. What a play!

2. The Trickeration - Have to like the call by Schiano to go for two after Tom Savage found Tim Brown for the touchdown that iced the game. Going for two was just a little bit of brazeness - it was a three possession game anyway for USF.

3. Tick Tock - Have to like the way that the Scarlet Knights are controlling the line of scrimmage and, in turn, have won the battle of possession. Through three quarters, Rutgers has the battle over 26 minutes.

4. Top 25? - They shouldn’t rush the field for this game, even though it is technically an upset, but at 7-2 and now with a quality win, is RU Top 25 worthy? Maybe not quite yet, but two wins over Syracuse and Louisville should clinch it for Rutgers.
